At the end of its anniversary year, the Stiftung Kunstforum Berliner Volksbank is showing the exhibition “Paradies”. The East Berlin artist and curator Christian Thoelke explores urban scenes from the Kunstsammlung der Berliner Volksbank and juxtaposes them with his own paintings of abandoned GDR buildings. He reflects on the profound changes in his living environment after reunification as well as the conflicts and potentials of social upheaval.
