The First Two Letters of the Alphabet Are Unconditional Love for the World

Ayumi Paul’s practice explores the entanglements of sound, matter, perception, and consciousness through performance, composition, and installation. The exhibition title refers to the first two characters of the Japanese syllabary, “A” and “I,” which together form the Japanese word for love. Here, love is understood as a condition of interconnectedness that binds all forms of life.
