CLUBS der ZUKUNFT/ CLUBS of the FUTURE)
Based on Houses of Culture that offered communal, identity-forming spaces throughout Europe and in the former GDR, CLUBS of the FUTURE reflects on the significance of communal spaces in contemporary societies. The project operates in a context of social transformation in which practices of collaboration, alternative economies and new forms of social coexistence are explored and negotiated.
It poses the question: How can we create polyphonic, civil spaces as spaces of possibility, experimentation, and communal living? During the summer, CLUBS of the FUTURE at the Kunstverein and in the Otto-Halle will open up a space for reflection on new ideas of community, commoning and reform with an exhibition, workshops, club formats and festival days.
