Don’t feed the fetish
NADAN is pleased to host Bulgarian emerging artist Viktor Petrov’s first solo exhibition "Don't Feed the Fetish" in house. Inspired by his personal experiences, especially the relationship with his mother, Petrov's latest works are built from housewares (dishwashers, ceramics, cook tops) and reflect the rigidity of patriarchal and class structures deeply rooted in the emotional burdens of Balkan culture. Petrov’s monumental installations thus aim to deconstruct society’s fetishized roles and dissect themes of patriarchy, cursing, and the state of emergency in society. Viktor Petrov was born in 1991 in Bulgaria and currently lives in Berlin, where he completed his Master's at the University of the Arts (UdK) in 2021 under the supervision of Professor Monica Bonvicini and was awarded the UdK Art Prize in 2022.
