With his Elektronik Filme, Schönherr was an early explorer of television’s visual language as an artistic medium. Filming individual TV images interspersed with flickering colours, he created a unique aesthetic oscillating between experimental cinema, Fluxus, and pop culture. His work, resisting clear categorisation, possesses a striking timelessness yet remained long undiscovered. This exhibition celebrates his visionary approach and invites viewers to rediscover the hypnotic imagery of the Elektronik Filme.
