Die Mütter

The exhibition The Mothers, curated by Christine Nippe, brings together works by Isaac Chong Wai and Käthe Kollwitz in a cross-generational dialogue. The exhibition focuses on the life cycle in all its vulnerability and resilience, the relationship between mothers and their children in times of war and conflict, and the connection between the past and the present. What feelings of guilt, grief, and anger are evoked? How can memory and grief be passed down across generations? At a time when war is once again shaping the lives of many people in Europe and around the world, these questions take on new urgency.
