The program DISLOCATIONS refers to shifts in places and perspectives. Starting from its location in Berlin-Mitte, the exhibition on the spot asks what role urban space plays here, and how it is turned into a commodity for investment, as well as a backdrop for art and tourism. It focuses on processes of speculation, exploitation and displacement, as well as the potential to counteract them through protest and performative strategies. Bringing together contemporary artworks and archival material from the 1990s and 2000s, the exhibition marks, fictionalizes and reverses moments of appropriation.
