Logical Disorder

Franz West and Bruno Gironcoli undoubtedly rank among the most influential Austrian artists of international standing. Although their work is closely connected, they have never been the subject of a dedicated two-person exhibition. In Logical Disorder, their objects, sculptures, and drawings are now brought into a direct dialogue for the first time.

Franz West—who, like Ugo Rondinone, studied under Bruno Gironcoli—is represented with his characteristic seating objects, his iconic „Passstücke“, and collages. Gironcoli is featured with the legendary „Burning Child“,  several of his signature aluminum casts, and drawings.

Both Franz West and Bruno Gironcoli have participated multiple times in the Biennale di Venezia; West has additionally taken part in the documenta in Kassel.
