Moving Clouds

Deutsche Bank honors Lucia Tallová as "Artist of the Year" 2026. Born in Bratislava in 1985, Tallová completed her studies at the local art academy and gained international recognition in 2022 through her participation in the Lyon Biennale. For her collages, she uses photographs from old books and magazines, partly combined with found objects such as furniture fragments and natural materials. At the intersection of painting, collage, and installation, she develops an impressive visual language. In doing so, she addresses themes such as ecology, suppressed female histories, modernity, loss, and utopia. Her "Artist of the Year" award recognizes the relevance of Tallová's poetic exploration of the fragility of memory in an accelerated, digital present.
